The DIY Arts show focuses on experimental, independent community and grassroots art forms that are under-funded, misrepresented or non-existent in the corporate media and regularly features live independent and under- represented music, predominately from Melbourne.

We had a great crew join us to celebrate the amazing year we have had promoting and exploring local music, art, craft and comics.

Maddy Phelan reads from the zine Ladybeard and talks about gender and the experience of reconstructing identity. Comic artist Alex Pavlotski reads a "cease & desist" letter he received regarding Link vs Cloud, a comic written as a Dojinshi (fan fiction) while he was studying comic art in Japan. We will also be revealing all of the awesome prizes we have to give away when you donate to our Radiothon show next week!

DIY Arts welcome Jacqui Brown back to radioland!  Nicole and Jacqui chat with Next Wave artists Katie and Olga from the multi media performance Pull My String and I Will Play For You as well as Matthew Day from the dance piece Thousands.  Casey Jenkins of The Craft Cartel joins us to talk about some exciting new plans for The Tote's sticky carpet.

Sarah from Batrider called up to chat about touring Australia, her upcoming exhibition which includes a larger than life size statue of Anna Nicole Smith as well as the differences between living in London and Adelaide. Plus a whole lot of great music.
