Don't Dump on SA rally - We Still Say NO!

Saturday, 1 December 2018 - 10:00am to 10:30am

This radioactive show features some of the speakers from the Don’t Dump on SA rally held on the steps of Parliament House in Adelaide on 3rd November. Over 1000 people from all over South Australia and beyond came together to say no, to tell the federal government to take all the sites in SA off the table and to hold a full independent inquiry into the best way to manage our most dangerous waste.  The government must stop targeting remote and regional areas and give first nations people a right of veto for proposals that threaten their country and culture.

There’s a short video of the rally here.

PLEASE SUPPORT THE CAMPAIGN TO STOP NUCLEAR WASTE DUMPING IN SA!!

HERE’S WHAT YOU CAN DO

Please send in a submission to the federal Department to register your opposition to the plan to dump on SA. This submission process is important ‒ the government will use it to claim 'broad community support' for the dump if it does not receive lots of opposing submissions. Please write your own submission or simply add your name to the submission drafted by the SA Conservation Council ‒ it will only take a minute of your time! Please visit: www.conservationsa.org.au/ballot

Sign the petition to federal Minister Matt Canavan and encourage everyone you know to do the same.www.conservationsa.org.au/petition_to_minister_canavan

Please donate to raise funds to stop the nuclear dump: www.gofundme.com/dontdumponsa

Contact your federal ALP MP and Senators.

The Labor Party have their national conference in Adelaide in mid December. With a federal election just around the corner, we want as many people as possible to contact them to urge them to adopt a strong policy on radioactive waste management.  Conservation SA has set up an online lobbying tool here.  Just enter your postcode and it will automatically send an email to your ALP members.  You can use the existing text, or edit to suit. Alternatively, you can call your ALP members.
