3CR broadcasts to a diverse audience of approximately 200 000 listeners each month (McNair Survey). Located in the inner-city Melbourne suburb of Fitzroy, our programs and announcements reach listeners all the way to Geelong and as far south as Tasmania.

Free Announcements

• 3CR accepts free announcements from the community by fax on 9417 4472 or email. Free announcements go into a tray for programmers to access at will. Air play is in no way guaranteed.

• Clients can promote their events by addressing each press release to an appropriate program (find program by topic) and the announcements then go into the individual programs pigeonholes.
  
  You can enter your events (not for profit events such as rallies, forums, concerts etc for socially and environmentally progressive campaigns) onto this website. Go to the right hand column and click on 'Add your community event here' under Community Events. 3CR will approve them before they go live. Email the Special Projects Coordinator if you would like clarification as to whether your event is suitable.

Paid General Announcements

• 50 seconds or less ( approximately 70 words)

• non-commercial in both content and tone

• almost always produced at 3CR

• go to air for 3 weeks or up until the advertised event

• are approximately played 1 - 4 times a day

Community announcements are available in both English and one of the community languages currently spoken at the station

In lieu of fees 3CR may be open to some cross promotional arrangements.

Spot Announcements

Spots are available on breakfast programming between 7.15 and 8.15am.
The fee is $20 per 30 second announcement.
Production fee per track is $60.

FAQs

What is required for 3CR to produce a Community announcement ?
You will need to supply a script (approximately 70 words) or information for the announcement; invoice details and an ABN.

How long will my announcement take?
Turn around time from request to your announcement being on air is usually a week for English announcements and 2 weeks for other languages.

How often will my announcement be played?
Your announcement will be played up until the date of your event (3 weeks maximum) approximately 1 - 4 times a day.

What does the announcement fee cover?
The fee covers BOTH the cost of production and the airplay. 3CR does not charge per spot.

Will I receive a copy of my announcement?
If clients require a copy of the announcement the fee is $15 (GST inclusive) for a CD/cassette/mini-disc or $10 for an MP3.

How can I organise a cross-promotional arrangement for my announcement?
If an organisation wishes to offer a cross-promotional proposal in exchange for free announcements they can contact 3CR's Special Projects Coordinator either by phone on 9419 8377 or by email. A limited number of opportunities for cross-promotional announcements are available and they need to be negotiated and agreed upon by the Special Projects Coordinator before production.
