David's lived experience - stigma & masculinity

Wednesday, 12 September 2018 - 5:30pm to 6:00pm

This week on Brainwaves, the team talked to David Corduff, mental health advocate and volunteer for beyondblue and Wellways. We talked about a little bit about his experience with depression, his interest in the mental health of men and the stigma surrounding masculinity and mental health.

Monday 10th September was World Suicide Prevention Day, a chance to work together to prevent suicide. Following on from this, RUOK? Day was held on Thursday the 13th of September, opening up the conversation around mental health and checking in with those around you. Both these days are a reminder of the stigmas that still surround mental health as well as the incredible efforts we as a society are undertaking in order to change this.
