Jacinta Parson's on Women's Mental Wellbeing, Ageing & Illness

Wednesday, 1 November 2023 - 6:00pm to 6:30pm
Jacinta Parsons is a caucasian woman with short platinum blonde hair, she wears a black lacy short sleeved top and black trousers and dark lipstick, the photo is black and white, in the image she is standing outside in a park with trees behind her as she smiles at the camera.

'It’s okay that you’re not coping because it’s normal,’ is what broadcaster, writer and @ABCaustralia 'The Friday Revue' co-host, Jacinta Parsons, would tell her younger self about chronic illness. ‘Understanding what not coping looks like and being comfortable with it.'

Jacinta is today’s guest on our radio show Brainwaves. An ambassador for @crohnscolitisau — she will talk about mental health and her memoir ‘Unseen’.

‘When we're no longer younger and needed for procreation and hot — and all the things that give us currency, it gives us an incredible opportunity… to unshackle from something that has convinced you for so long that you're a certain person,’ Broadcaster Jacinta Parsons says.

Jacinta Parsons, also talks about mental health for women as they age in her book ‘A Question of Age’. ‘For women’s mental health there has been such a diminishing response to the reaction to systemic oppression,’ she says.

Jacinta joins Flic Manning, host, for an inspiring and deeply moving chat. You can watch the video online: Full Interview Video
