City Limits - Big Housing Build

Wednesday, 18 November 2020 - 9:00am to 10:00am

Another housing week on City Limits, talking with regulars Howard Marosi (Friends of Public Housing) and Shane McGrath (Housing for the Aged Action Group) about the Victoria's announcement of the Big Housing Build.

Find out why this announcement isn't as impressive as it sounds, the differences between public, social, community and affordable housing, and what action is actually needed (hint: public housing!)

At 38 minutes we go to two pre-recordings from HAAG's podcast Raise the Roof. The first is Fiona York from HAAG discussing housing and risk factors for homelessness for our older LGBTI population. The second has Tonye Segbedzi from the Australian Association of Gerontology talking about the housing needs and preferences of older LGBTI people.

Check out the blog by Friends of Public Housing here.

If you are over 50 years of age and would like some advice, information, or practical housing support, call HAAG toll-free on 1300 765 178
