Kim has of course worked with an absolute plethora of musicians and groups some of which are The Beasts of Bourbon, The Surrealists, Darling Downs with the sadly recently departed Ron S Peno, Spencer P Jones, Salmon with Penny Ikinger, Matt Walker, Clare Moore and Dave Graney.
He was born in Perth and at 19 years of age was playing in a cabaret covers band called Troubled Waters in a strip club in Fremantle.
Kim Salmon played in a variety of local bands including The Cheap Nasties who turned into the Manikins after he left eventually forming The Scientists in 1979.
In 1981 the band moved to Sydney and released the formative single This is my happy hour backed by Swampland on Au Go Go records and In 1984 The Scientists moved to London for 3 years.
The Scientists have released 8 studio albums, 4 live recordings, 8 compilations and numerous single and EP releases.
The latest album their first in 30 years Negativity is available through U.S. label In The Red.
