Welcome to 3CR’s summer programming! Dr. Gonzo is here with a special edition of And This One’s Introduced By, where artists introduce their own music. Normally, we feature one artist per episode, but for the next three weeks, we’ll showcase four different artists each week, each selecting tracks from previously aired shows.

Each week brings a fresh theme, including Rockin’ Women, Indie Innovators, Psychedelic Rockers, Lest We Forget (rockin’ amongst the stars), and High Weirdness.

This week’s episode is titled Lest We Forget: Rockin’ Amongst the Stars. It’s a heartfelt tribute to the fragility of life, featuring four remarkable artists we’ve recently lost. Though they are no longer with us, their music lives on as a testament to their talent and spirit.

We’ll hear from:

• Susan King, who, along with her musical partner Paul Wain, created unique cut-and-paste soundscapes in Antediluvian Rocking Horse,
• Ollie Olsen, the electronic music maestro who was known for his cutting-edge experimental work,
• Timmy Jack Ray, drummer from Powder Monkey, reminiscing about his time playing with legends Tim Hemensley and John Nolan, and
• Richard Andrew, who left us far too soon, but not before leaving behind his final album, Black River.

Even though these talented artists are no longer with us, their spirit endures through the music they created. Tune in to celebrate their legacy and hear the lasting impact of their work.
