Nick Batterham's musical journey continues with the release of his seventh solo album, "The Sentimentalist."
This carefully crafted collection spans alt-folk roots to guitar-driven and orchestral pop, offering a heartfelt exploration of love and hope that listeners will find both touching and relatable.
In recent years, Batterham has garnered attention for his collaborations with celebrated visual artist Rone.
He's composed contemporary classical music and created sound design for immersive installations, including Rone's "Time" project, which ran for six months at Melbourne's Flinders Street Station and is now on display at the Art Gallery of Western Australia.
Batterham's musical roots run deep. As guitarist and co-songwriter for 90s indie band The Earthmen, he toured internationally at just 21 and later recorded an ARIA-nominated major-label album. Since 2009, he's also played guitar for Melbourne indie rock favorites Cordrazine.
Beyond music, Batterham studied film at VCA and has built a career in film and television scoring, earning two AFI/AACTA award nominations. His most recent work includes a feature documentary score about artist David Bromley.
"The Sentimentalist" showcases Batterham's evolving artistry across multiple musical landscapes.
