3CR is pleased to announce a new program dedicated to animal rights. Freedom of Species, Sundays 7 - 7.30am, is animal advocacy on the airwaves – broadcasting to raise the voice of the voiceless in our society.

Freedom of Species is hosted by a team of local animal advocates and enthusiasts, presenting local & international news, interviews and music from this vibrant and progressive social justice movement.

The Community Radio Federation (CRF) is the highest decision making body at the station and has representation from Affiliate groups, Station Workers and Subscribers. If you would like to nominate as a Subscriber Representative and be involved in the decision making processes at 3CR Community Radio please contact the station for a form.

Join 3CR broadcasters on Wednesday 26 January for special programming in recognition of Survival Day. While the nation celebrates "Australia Day", 3CR programmers will pay respect to Aboriginal peoples around the country as the First Australians and the true custodians of the land. Tune in to Wednesday Breakfast from 7 - 8.30am and at 11am join Robbie Thorpe and the Fire First team. From 12 - 2pm Gilla McGuinness will broadcast live from Belgrave Survival Day celebrations.
LEST WE FORGET. Join us on Thursday 20 January from 12 noon to 1pm to commemorate the 169th anniversary of the execution of Tunnerminnerwait and Maulboyheenner. On 20 January 1842 Tunnerminnerwait and Maulboyheenner - two Indigenous freedom fighters - were executed on the corner of Bowen and Franklin Streets in Melbourne.

This week 3CR welcomes its new Station Manager, Loretta O'Brien. Loretta has worked at the station for 6 years in administration and finances and brings not only a wealth of knowledge about the station and the sector but also a strong academic understanding of running not for profits having completed a Master in Public Advocacy and Action specialising in management of NGOs.
