3CR's
Shiftegan program (Iranian/Persian) is proud to present a very special two hour broadcast celebrating Norooz, the Persian New Year, on
Sunday 20 March from 1.00 - 3.00pm. Norooz marks the begining of the spring in the northern hemisphere.
Norooz ceremonies are symbolic representations of two ancient concepts - the End and the Rebirth; or Good and Evil. A few weeks before the
New Year, Iranians clean and rearrange their homes. They make new clothes, bake pastries and germinate seeds as sign of renewal.
Then the greatest celebration in the Iranian calendar begings on 21 March and continues for 13 days.
