On
Sunday 20 January 1842 two Indigenous freedom fighters became the
first people executed in Victoria. Tunnerminnerwait and Maulboyheenner were hanged on the corner of Swanston and LaTrobe Streets. Since 2008, the Tunnerminnerwait and Maulboyheener Commemoration Committee has organised a commemoration and broadcast to remember the execution and to highlight the unfinished business that still exists between indigenous and non indigenous Australians.
Tune in from 12pm – 1pm, or come along to the corner of Bowen and Franklin Streets in the city.
