On the 24th of November 2018 Victorians went to the polls to vote for their next state representatives. An Australian political party dedicated to animals, called the Animal Justice Party, fielded candidates in 43 of the 88 lower house electorates and had candidates running in each of the 8 upper house regions. It is looking very likely that one of the Animal Justice Party candidates will be elected to the upper house. We are joined by Bruce Poon the President of the Animal Justice Party to discuss the amazing growth in first preference votes for the party since the 2014 election, what these votes means in terms of poliitical capital and how the AJP intends to use this positive election result to create change for animals.
