Writing Home is about writers who have more than one home, many homes and are realising so many more. We carry the stories of our soil fresh and fertile in us. Our stories sometimes smell like an invaded, fertile land. Sometimes a wedding of our minds and our tounges. And sometimes a warefare between them. And yet we hone our tounges with the honesty that is native to our mothers and our minds. In Writing Home Madhvi shares space with migrant writers of colour discussing their unique but collective writing processes navigating home, life and love. |

How can we better practice solidarity with each other as fellow disabled people of different backgrounds and abilities, locally and across borders, at a time in humankind’s existence where mass-disabling violence is increasing? How can non-disabled people better practice solidarity with us? Listen in as we reflect and explore through conversation, music, and more. Check out all the details here.
Who doesn’t love a rummage through some books and CDs on a Saturday morning? Come join us at the 3CR garage sale - Saturday 16 November, 9am-2pm in the 3CR carpark at the rear of 21 Smith Street, Fitzroy. There’ll be CDs, records, cassettes, books, household goods, 3CR merchandise and much more! Curated by the weekly show The Sporting Record and all proceeds go directly to the station. This event is part of the Garage Sale Trail.
Applications are now open for DJing, DJ production (Ableton live) and darbuka workshops as part of the 3CR Salaam Radio Music School. We have limited places available for each of the three streams of training and all workshops are free of charge. Applicants from the SWANA diaspora and First Nations communities are strongly encouraged to apply. The aim of the workshops is to solidify the participants skills to be able to perform (if they wish) by the end of the training course live on Salaam Radio Show.
