Last show of the year!
This Housing Week, Zeb and Kevin speak with Shane McGrath from Housing for the Aged Action Group (HAAG) about how COVID and related policies affected housing in 2021, including the end to the eviction moratorium and Coronavirus supplements for welfare recipients, a reflection of pervasive governmental inaction. We also discuss the continued under-investment of public housing, the HAAG 2021 Christmas party, and a forecast of housing-related issues for 2022.
Later, Jessica Harrison and Jack Verdins join the program to give a recap on the Housing Matters meeting held in Wonthaggi last week, discussing the lack of housing affordability in the Bass Coast, and what resources the group are calling for going forward.
