Melynda von Wayward is a creative, passionate, motivated, and eclectic woman.
She’s the creator of Punk Journey - a multimedia website and book documenting the history of the Melbourne punk scene from 1977-1987. She’s also the publisher of a book called Punk a Photographic Journey: 2004 - 2007 - an 80-page photographic book that captures and celebrates the colour, style and attitude of the contemporary Melbourne punk scene and the creator of a not-for-profit organisation called the Society of Australian Punk that aims represent and support Australian punk research and projects.
In 2014 Melynda curated an exhibition celebrating St Kilda as the epicentre of the Melbourne punk scene from 1977 - 1987 titled Punk Journey: St Kilda + Beyond. She also curated an all-encompassing exhibition celebrating iconic artists and musician Fred Negro titled St Kilda’s Alright: The Fred Negro Experience
To top it off she’s just released a totally DIY 14 track punk / dance album with a punchy, poppy, post-punk feel, Automatic Punk as The Wayward Woman.
