Curated by Ella Ganza in association with Joshua Taliani, BLAKOUT is an illustrious celebration of queer Indigenous and Pasifika communities living in so-called Australia.
Featuring the children of Meanjin’s House of Alexander, BLAKOUT redefines our communities shared queer and cultural experiences through the fusion of different contemporary art practices. Weaving together ancestral knowledge and story-telling from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Nations, the opulent nations of Southeast Asia, to the archipelagos of the Pacific, and back to the vibrant ballroom scene in Harlem, New York, this cabaret will showcase blak and brown queer excellence.
