Thursday, 18 March 2021 - 11:30pm to Friday, 19 March 2021 - 12:30am
And This One's Introduced By on 3CR with Dr. Gonzo

Australian singer Garry Gray made his appearance in 1974 with long lost group Judas Iscariot and the traitors with Chris Walsh and released the Stooges cover Shake appeal. With the addition of Ollie Olson and Peter Cave, the pair formed The Reals in 1975 and were to become one of Melbourne’s few original “punk” bands. With the departure of Olson, the Reals brought in Michael Holmes on guitar to become The Negatives  in 1977 and contributed the eerie Planet on the prowl to the faux punk compilation Lethal Weapons on Suicide Records in 1978. The Negatives folded a year later, Holmes joining up with Paul Kelly and the Dots, Walsh joining the Moodists and Gray forming the Sacred Cowboys with Mark Ferrie, Terry Doolan, Janis Friedenfields aka Johnny Crash, Ian Forrest and Andrew Picouleau.

Garry Gray will be introducing songs from the Sacred Cowboys and from Garry Gray and the sixth circle who’s album Diamond in the forehead came out in 2015 on the Off the hip label, there'll also be some literary inspirations including Norman Mailer, Stephen Wright, Joseph Conrad, Yoko Ono, and Tom Wolfe.

Garry Gray is my guest on And this one’s Introduced By... with Paul Elliott on Planet X on Thurs 18/3/21 at 11.30PM.
