Sasja invited a very special guest from her hometown, Singapore.
Kay is a 28 year old trans guy who’s no stranger to change. He started transitioning right before he quit his job and recently moved to Narrm, Melbourne, and began studying to be a counsellor. In his spare time, he enjoys cooking and reading, and has recently taken up knitting. If all goes well, he might have a beanie right before the weather turns truly cold.
Sasja and Kay discussed everything Singapore of course and the recent repeal of 377A - Singapore’s parliament has decriminalised sex between men, but has amended the constitution to effectively block full marriage equality. The British colonial-era law penalised sex between men with up to two years in jail, although the statute was not actively enforced. The law had long been criticised as discriminatory and stigmatising to the LGBTQ+ community.
