For this International Women’s Day 2022 special we bring you the powerful voices of three First Nations women that have been featured on the Radioactive Show across the last year and recognise the huge amount of work they undertake to protect their homelands from destruction and maintain their culture and country. This work is mostly unpaid, and also comes at enormous personal cost.
We hear Mara Bonacci speaking with Kuyani woman Regina McKenzie on May Day 2021, Larrakia woman June Mills speaking at the Beyond Mining Counter Conference organised by Blockade IMARC and Sue Coleman Haseldine, Kokatha Mula representative interviewed by Lavanya Pant.
Songs are Nadeena Dixon with the song 'Aboriginal Land' from the album Songbird Calling and Lady Lash with 'Black Woman in the Flames' from her album Spiritual Misfit.
Emma Crunch, Michaela Stubbs, Sam Gibbard & Johan Kettle.
