 Benjamin is currently working on some screenplays including one based on his novel Screwjob, a new poetry chapbook on things you don’t normally write poems about, some spoken word performances and various non-fiction projects.

Benjamin Solah is a writer of truth, fiction and poetry, a spoken word artist and political activist. He grew up in the Western suburbs of Sydney, but now lives in Melbourne where he studies Creative Writing at RMIT.

His writing often has strong political themes, especially to do with oppression, alienation and capitalism as well as through the lense of sport and popular culture. He has also explored the issue of asylum seekers in his work.

He is the editor ofMelbourneSpokenWord.com and the convener of monthly poetry night, Keep Left. His writing has appeared in publications including Overland, Geek Mook, The Emerging Writer and various anthologies by eMergent Publishing. He also performed spoken word and poetry around various venues in Melbourne including regular poetry events, Passionate Tongues at The Brunswick Hotel and Dan Poets at The Dan O'Connell Hotel.
