Mary Stone on Spoken Word

Mary Stone is a poet, singer, song-writer, artist & librarian. 

She has featured as a spoken word performer in & around Melbourne, including: West Word, House of Bricks, Chamber Poets, Red Lobster & several cafes, galleries & bars. Some of her poetry has also been included as part of broader art installations & exhibitions.

Mary's work is inclusive of several poetic styles from: free form to haiku / senryu & has been published in anthologies. She is currently working on a manuscript for her first chapbook to be published soon [early 2018].

Mary has also been a writer and editor for: "PASH Capsule: an online magazine about love & provocations".

Mary has received several awards for her work - the latest being Highly Commended for the "Words in Winter Contemporary Poetry Competition - 2017". 

She is also the lead singer for: "Ill Gotten Booty" - a ratbag of roister-doisters whose songs are often a mix of Celtic, American Gothic & Folky flavours.

You can find Mary performing & making a general nuisance of herself mostly within the inner Melbs poetry & dive-bar communities.
