The Sporting Record loves to collect songs about footy. We've got dozens of them. One of our very favourites has been a song by Donna Fisk and Michael Christan called Rock'n'Footy which was the channel 7 footy theme back in the 90s. We've played it on the Sporting Record numerous times.

Based on a John A Tait prompt, Donna has recorded a new version of the song with AFLW in mind although still relevant for the male game as well.

We were delighted to get Donna into the studio a few weeks back - before the song's official release - to quiz Donna on that song and to learn more about her and her wonderful career.

We hope the song will get picked up by the powers that be as a worthy anthem for the AFLW competition.

The new version is called Rock the Country.
