Artist statement: Flowers grow, the world revolves, and we make it through another day. While the sun sets, the diminishing rays ignite our own introspection on the status quo and our part in that. As we take stock of where we are, intertwined is a wealth of knowledge and strength.  This is the destination, and now is the journey.

Trans Day of Audibility

Help make our ‘Trans Day of Audibility’ broadcast happen! Donate on GiveOUT Day this Friday 15 October. GiveOUT Day is a national day of giving to LGBTIQA+ organisations, community groups, and projects. Donations on GiveOUT Day are doubled by GiveOUT and their partners. That means your donation will be matched dollar for dollar. How good is that! We're fundraising for a ‘Trans Day of Audibility’ broadcast that will bring together a range of queer programmers and presenters to showcase and celebrate underrepresented voices for Trans Day of Visibility (TDOV) in March 2022. Your donation will help elevate and amplify the voices of trans communities as part of this dedicated special broadcast. To donate just head to GiveOUT Day now!

Wednesday 6:30pm to 7:00pm
Sudanese arts, culture, and current affairs, as well as local news for the community in Australia, presented in Arabic.

20 Years on the Inside

Today we announce the release of an iconic podcast series - “20 Years on the Inside”. The series gives voice to the experience of First Nations incarceration in the Victorian prison system. “20 Years on the Inside” is a carefully curated series of conversations with Aboriginal people recorded across two decades of Beyond the Bars, 3CR’s live prison radio broadcasts. The podcast series is hosted by prominent Aboriginal activists Vickie Roach and Kutcha Edwards. “We believe the voices in this series have never been heard in podcasting before, and the themes of storytelling, politics, community and humanity make this series a must-listen for anyone living in so-called Australia.” The 6-part series is available across all podcast platforms (Spotify, Apple) and on the 3CR website and you can listen live each Monday at midday on 855AM, 3CR Digital or via live streaming.

Neithan and Tony from Strong Spirit

3CR is thrilled to have Dardi Munwurro (Strong Spirit) as a new affiliate organisation and new program each Monday at 1pm. Dardi is an independent Aboriginal organisation which works in the area of family violence, to support Aboriginal men of all ages to break the cycle of inter-generational trauma, and to become leaders, role models and mentors within their communities. Neithan and Tony (pictured) say the weekly Strong Spirit radio show will take a holistic approach, sharing information about Dardi’s work with Aboriginal men and their communities. It will show the wider community what Kooris are doing to support each other and to make the community safer.
