‘Classroom to Newsroom: Racial gatekeeping in Australian media’ challenges the defence of the status quo, and identifies how institutional barriers -- from Australian schools and universities all the way to newsroom -- work to directly and indirectly exclude Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, non-Indigenous Black and POC journalists and presenters.
