This week we revisit our First Nations Women and Song International Working Women's Day Episode produced by Ivka and Jasmine from our Tuesday Breakfast team. Together, they walk listeners through a curated selection of First Nations Music that celebrates women and gender diverse people.

Alla is a powerful Yorta Yorta winyarr, a storyteller, composer, director, producer, musician and soundscape designer. She was also the recipient of the Archie Roach Foundation Award for Emerging Talent (2021 Music Victoria Awards) and is a founding member of Ensemble Dutala. Her music emphasises double-bass, sounds from Country and more acoustic instrumentals to weave in healing, authentic textures to her art.

We re-visit an interview with Jessie Lloyd that our host, Phuong, did during May last year. They discuss Jessie's album, Ailan Songs project - Four Winds, a contemporised exploration of popular historical songes from the Torres Straits.

Another interview Jasmine coordinated was one with Dja Dja Wurrung and Yorta Yorta winyarr, Allira Dryden. Allira was one of the dancers from Djaara dance group, who performed at First and Forever in late last year.
