Mick Medew is a legendary musician who hails from Brisbane. As lead vocalist and guitarist he formed the band the 31st in 1979 with Ron Peno (the future Died Pretty singer) in 1981 Mick formed the Screaming Tribesmen who signed with Sydney label Citadel and released the classic single Igloo.
Since releasing many singles, EPs and albums and touring around the country with Screaming Tribesmen Mick Medew was awarded the prestigious GW McLennan Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2015 Queensland Music Awards.
Since 2011, he's been performing with a new project, Mick Medew and the Mesmerisers featuring ex-Screaming Tribesmen members Brian Mann, Michael Charles, and Lois Andrews. Mick recently released his first solo album Psychopharmacologist on 1-94 Bar Records, the songs were worked up over five years of solo shows in Brisbane and Melbourne and further arranged in a Brisbane studio when COVID-19 madness made live shows impossible for Mick Medew and the Mesmerisers.
