Welcome to 3CR’s summer programming, Dr Gonzo is here with a special feature for And This One’s Introduced by where the artist introduces their music. Usually one artist is featured, but for these special summer programming episodes there have been 4 artists each week introducing a selection from previously aired episodes.
If you enjoy a particular segment you can hear the complete show at 3cr.org.au/introducedby & each week there'll be a different theme for each of the programs.
Rockin’ women, Indie Innovators, psychedelic rockers, lest we forge (rockin’ amongst the stars) and high weirdness. The week's episode is titled High Weirdness and features 4 artists artists who have delved deep into the canyons of their minds to concoct whimsical confections of musical mayhem.
Artists such as Legs Larry Smith, who served as the drummer for the legendary Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band; Fred Negro, also a drummer and surrealist performer with his partner in crime Rob Wellington, Jim E. Brown, who is even weirder than Weird Al; and David Thrussell, who continues to confound listeners with his wild Hillbillies from Hell compilations featuring songs of broken Nashville delights—brazen voodoo rituals, satanic trysts, apocalyptic cataclysms, premature burials, and beastly jousts.
