John CJ Taylor’s melodic and catchy songs remind me of music from a golden bygone era, songs by artists like Stealers Wheel, Ace and UK Squeeze. John played bass guitar in many bands in Sydney before moving to Melbourne in the mid 70’s with Uncle Bob Band.
The band broke up and John kept busy producing artwork for Laurence J Richards venue The Tiger Lounge in Richmond before joining The Secret Police that morphed into Little Heroes that had a big hit called One Perfect Day in 1982.
The talented John CJ Taylor studied animation at the Swinbourne Film & Television School and began a creative career as an animator, illustrator and TAFE film school lecturer. His films won numerous awards including an AFI Best Animated Film and an AWGIE scriptwriting award.
He continued to play with various musicians and bands and set up a portable studio to record his own songs. The result is ‘CAUGHT IN THE MIDDLE’, John’s debut solo album featuring 15 of his originals.
CAUGHT IN THE MIDDLE is now available online at Bandcamp and you can check it out by searching John CJ Taylor Caught in the middle the album is already gaining support from independent radio.
