On this episode of Queering The Air, Sasja Sÿdek was joined by the TRANSFABULOUS activist, Ashley Yadav Thapa.

Originally from Nepal, Ashley Yadav Thapa immigrated to Australia in 2019 on a student visa to pursue her Master’s Degree in Social Work, which she completed in 2021 but graduated in 2023. This graduation was particularly special for her as she was able to have her parents present for the ceremony. Ashley is passionate about sharing queer content and advocating for trans and LGBTQIA+ issues through her writing and storytelling on social media, drawing on her own lived experiences. She frequently shares her daily life as a Transwoman of color on her Instagram Stories, reels, and posts. Currently, Ashley works as a Youth Worker at HOPE Street Organisation, focusing on assisting young people in their transition to independent living. Additionally, she is developing at Rainbow Project to create a safe, inclusive space for trans and queer youth. In her free time, Ashley enjoys attending cultural events and festivals, traveling, and spending time in nature.
