3CR Film Fundraiser

Bring your friends for a movie night out at 3CR’s screening of the new political comedy ‘Pride’ on Thursday 6 November. Set in the Margaret Thatcher’s England in the summer of 84, ‘Pride’ is the story of how a London-based group of gay and lesbian activists join forces with the National Union of Mineworkers to raise money to support the strikers' families. 

3CR garage sale 16 November

Who doesn’t love a rummage through some books and CDs on a Saturday morning? Come join us at the 3CR garage sale - Saturday 16 November, 9am-2pm in the 3CR carpark at the rear of 21 Smith Street, Fitzroy. There’ll be CDs, records, cassettes, books, household goods, 3CR merchandise and much more! Curated by the weekly show The Sporting Record and all proceeds go directly to the station. This event is part of the Garage Sale Trail.

Salaam Radio Music School

Applications are now open for DJing, DJ production (Ableton live) and darbuka workshops as part of the 3CR Salaam Radio Music School. We have limited places available for each of the three streams of training and all workshops are free of charge. Applicants from the SWANA diaspora and First Nations communities are strongly encouraged to apply. The aim of the workshops is to solidify the participants skills to be able to perform (if they wish) by the end of the training course live on Salaam Radio Show. More detail and the application form are here. Are you part of a community organisation dedicated to connecting and engaging your community? 3CR is a great place to voice your culture and connect with community in your language. Programming at the station provides a platform to share your organisation's activities as well as music and stories by and for your community. We provide training and technical support for members to develop skills and gain experience in broadcasting and media communication. 3 Songs 2024

Come along to 3 Songs on Friday 2 August at Mark St Hall in Fitzroy North. Each year singers and artists gather to present a fundraising concert to support the station. Six local choirs will each bring three of their most loved songs to raise funds and support Music Sans Frontieres, the World Music program presented weekly by The Boite (Tuesdays 12 -2pm). An annual feature in The Boite program of singing events, 3 Songs re-connects the singers, invites listeners into the songs and delights everyone in an evening of music and warmth. This year's line up includes: Living Out Loud dir Sue Johnson, Feel Good Choir dir Carl Panuzzo, Gorani men’s Georgian vocal ensemble, Mixed Drinks dir Therese Virtue, Sonidos Del Alma dir Iaki Vallejo, and Lingua Madre dir Kavisha Mazzella. May Day broadcast

On Wednesday May 1, we bring you discussions on workers' rights, industrial actions, the labour movement, and fair working conditions for everyone. Hear about indigenous rights, social justice, international solidarity, work safety, community building, un/under-employment, campaign updates, workers' songs, and more. It’s going to be a huge day!
