This year marks the 174th anniversary of the execution of the two Freedom Fighters: Tunnerminnerwait & Maulboyheenner. They were executed on 20 January 1842 on the corner of Bowen & Franklin Streets Melbourne. 3CR will again be broadcasting the commemoration LIVE on Wednesday 20 January from 12 - 1pm on 855AM, digital and streaming. There will be special guest speakers hosted by Joe Toscano from Anarchist World This Week, plus a short open mic session.

Concrete Gang, winners of the Spirit of 3CR Award, 2015

Congratulations to the Concrete Gang for taking out the 2015 Spirit of 3CR Award, and well deserved it is. The Concrete Gang have been broadcasting weekly on 3CR for almost 40 years making sure that CFMEU workers are informed about their industrial rights, safety and encouraging a great culture of looking after one another at work. And full marks for comic delivery, making what could be a dry topic down right hilarious.

Joe Hill Tribute Benefit for 3CR

Thanks to some friends of 3CR and the Lomond Hotel for organising this fundraiser and giving us a chance to hear some uplifting music in the spirit of Joe Hill, IWW organiser and influential songwriter. A man who inspired Woody Guthrie, Paul Robeson, Joan Baez, Pete Seeger, Bruce Springsteen and countless others. $10 waged/ $5 concession.
