Sangean radio

Sovereignty and Struggle for Independence

Human Rights Day is fast approaching! On Sunday 8 December, 3CR is holding a Human Rights public forum to increase awareness and build support for sovereignty and independence in Australia, Sri Lanka and West Papua.

3CR Awards Night

Last Friday, 3CR programmers and volunteers came together to celebrate another year of radical and alternative broadcasting, and for the presentation of the 3CR Radio Awards. Congratulations to all the nominees and the winners! Read on for the full list of award recipients: Best New Program was awarded to both Refugee Radio and What’s the Score, $port?.

Beyond the Bars CD Launch

Once again 3CR is very proud to announce the launch of the Beyond the Bars CD. This is the 10th CD to feature highlights from the Beyond the Bars NAIDOC week broadcasts. The launch will feature excerpts from the CD, a panel discussion with Vickie Roach, Shiralee Hood and Daniel Skipper, MC'd by Beyond the Bars founding member, Kutcha Edwards and with music by Johnny Mac. Thursday 21 November 6-8pm at the New Ballroom, Trades Hall, cnr Victoria and Lygon Sts, Carlton. Light refreshments and non-alcoholic beverages available. Please come to the launch and celebrate with us the achievements of this amazing project.

Girls Radio Club

3CR has been running the Girls Radio Club for young women from Indigenous, refugee, asylum seeker and migrant backgrounds aged 15 to 20. The Girls Radio Club is now broadcasting on 3CR every Thursday 5-5.30pm until September 19. Listen in on 855am, or stream it hereWe are very excited to announce a special extra day of training as part of the project.

Left After Breakfast Legendary Lunch

You are invited to a special get-to-know-you day and fundraiser for Left After Breakfast on Sunday 29 September. Come along and meet some living legends over lunch! No, we don’t mean we’re the Legends. Every listener counts at 3CR, every listener is a legend, and we’ll be having lunch with some well-known legendary listeners. Come and join us, then you get to have lunch with them too!

Roominations Benefit Gig

Join the Roominations team this Sunday 11 August for a great evening of live music. Featuring Wolfpack, Liquor Snatch, The Antoinettes, Escape Test, Amy V, and Karl Huttenmeister. Plus special guest speakers, door prizes, and a raffle! 3 - 10pm, Sunday 11 August, Eureka Hotel Richmond. Entry is $5 at the door.
