The Freedom Flotilla to West Papua was an unprecedented event of creative resistance to the Indonesian occupation of West Papua. Highlighting the abuses of human rights and land rights carried out under the occupations of their lands on an international stage. The Freedom Flotilla sucessfully completed their sacred mission on Friday 13 September 2013.

3CR has been running the Girls Radio Club for young women from Indigenous, refugee, asylum seeker and migrant backgrounds aged 15 to 20. This weekend 3CR is supporting the Live Wire 24 hour speak-out for refugees at Federation Square, Melbourne. Kicking off at midday on Saturday, the speak-out seeks to reclaim the conversation around asylum seekers in the lead up to the Federal election.

John has been broadcasting on 3CR for 2 years and says it is "such an honour to just to be nominated, considering the great quality of community broadcasting across the nation".
